The Siren (1992)
Out of the sea: a woman screaming in the windy night as if crying for help.
A young working man with a funny walk was trudging down the shore.
Hearing the cry, he leapt into the water, clothes and all,
anxious and excited at the chance to be the savior of
Kate Bush or Sophie B. Hawkins or Tori Amos.
The dreamer was lost in that murky sea, in water black as night.
As for the woman who fell overboard
she was rescued at the last decisive moment, as always
by the yacht owner, a polytechnical prince,
and their yacht, suddenly at peace,
went on gliding over the dark surface of the water
towards a shimmering shoreline decked with colored lights.
For the deceased laborer, the night sea
was now the eternally wet bed of his childhood.Exhibitions
